At the end of the 19th century, in a little Italian village by a lake, an old statue is recovered. Soon a series of crimes start and the superstitious people of the village believe that the statue carries an ancient malediction .

An escapee Mexican outlaw returns to his hometown, where he is sheltered from a tenacious bounty killer by the townspeople - who discover too late that he is a changed man.

During an outbreak of violent murders in the area targeting young women, a journalist searching for a female friend gone missing ends up in a villa owned by an eccentric photographer.
